What do I take on the plane for a toddler?

We are due to go on holiday soon and Max will be going on his first holiday abroad, his first aeroplane and his first visit to America.

It's all very exciting but I'm a bit apprehensive about the flight and the long booking in time.  We have to be at the airport 3 hours before check in and then sit on a plane for 8 hours with a toddler just under 2.

I recently purchased a portable DVD player with my Tesco Clubcard points and it has 3-hour battery life.

I bought crayons, notepads and books

I bought magazines and sticker books

I have snacks and I have my iPod and daddy's iPad with headphones in the hopes of keeping Max amused.

I don't really know what else to pack for the plane so I'm hoping between the above, sleeps and in-flight movies this will help us through the next 12 hours..........
