Where to find the perfect party bag fillers

TMNT party bags

Around this time last year I started to think about the theme for my son's birthday party, well I say started to think about it, but it was pretty obvious that we were going to have a teenage mutant ninja turtle theme.

I totally enjoyed all aspects of arranging his party from talking with our cake maker, creating party games and creating the party bags, but the one aspect that was a struggle was what to put in the bags!  My choices were either Tesco's pick and mix (very popular at most parties we go to) or Amazon / eBay bulk buys of 6s, 12s, 24s.... For 20 children that means I then have to overbuy items (reminds of the hot dog and bun situation, always too many dogs...).

So when I came across Little Party Parcels I thought this was a brilliant idea!!   The concept behind this business is to cater to people who need to buy fillers for party bags, the actual bags and individual quantities - no more overbuys!

I personally love the idea of creating my own bags with items I've chosen (maybe a bit of a control freak in me there), but some would just like a theme and the bags packed for them - both worlds have been catered for in my opinion.

What are some of the Party Bag Fillers you can buy?

Party Bag Fillers

Great little pieces for all children to enjoy.  I'm not a fan of the bouncing putty so that's been put to one side.... my son, on the other hand, loves it!  The rubbers are ideal for school-age children, but what went down very well with my preschooler - the rocket balloons and the flying disc - these two items are perfect if building up your own bag.

I love that you can buy as many as you need, not a pack of 6 or 24!  The Pickup sticks?  how fab is those, nice and retro for older children and fits perfectly in the party bag - these are 90p!  With my son's 2 favourites, the sticks, a few sweeties and a blower - this bag would go down very well at one of our parties and all for under £2 per bag!

I think these are brilliant prices, considering the cost of parties these days and the cost of individual bulk buying of party bags, Little Party Parcels takes away that stress, cost and overage.

I for one will be coming back again for Max's next birthday - rather fancy getting some Double Dip (and I'm not talking for the kids)!

Finally, what to do with the party bag fillers

I've written a post on busy bags and how to keep my son amused in the car.  Well, the smaller sized zip pockets are perfect for filling with the small toys that come back from a party.  The kids love them but I'm sure like all ours, the toys get lost in the toy boxes and around the house, so this is now how we organise them.

  1. I love that you can still buy all the little party bag fillers that I used to come home with from parties when I was a kid, those Hairy Harry magnetic boards were my favourite. I love your idea for storing them all afterwards.

  2. Great prices. The first party I did for son1 was Winnie the Pooh and I went to great effort selecting pencils, stickers etc on eBay but as you say ended up with far too many. The next time I did Thomas the Tank Engine and just bulk bought correct number of a Thomas bath bag with shower gel, soap and comb from Superdrug and also included sweets. Since then I have ignored the chosen party theme and usually give each child a book and sweets, although once opted for a colouring activity bag instead. To put them in, I bulk bought 100 green candy stripe large paper bags which have lasted a few years. Think I now only have enough left for one more party
