Craft: How I made my chalkboard mirror

Craft: How I made my chalkboard mirror

Those who follow my blog will know I do love my Malma mirrors.  So you can imagine I was over the moon when my partner came home from the car boot sale with a new (old) one for me.

This gave me the perfect opportunity to use my new chalkboard paint spray that I bought.  I do have other plans for this spray but I'm waiting on the right bargain from eBay / Gumtree to achieve that.

So I have my Malma mirror and my chalkboard paint and it really is as simple as covering the mirror in the middle and spraying the wood.  Give it a couple of layers and leave it overnight.  The can will say touch dry in 30 minutes but I recommend leaving it overnight.

I found my mirror to still be a wee bit sticky the next day so I wet it and wahey - chalkboard mirror ready to write/draw on, and I found that bit highly addictive!  I must have drawn half a dozen images and written several quotes before I put the mirror up!

I would say I'd never make a great teacher as I found I can't write very well on a chalkboard but then it dawned on me that schools probably don't have blackboards anymore.... soo showing my age!!
