For the last couple of years, we've enjoyed watching Channel 4's Comedy Gala and this year I decided I was going to spend my very hard earned cash on actually being at the show.
I told my partner that we had 'good seats' but that's all I did tell him and it was well worth the secret as his face was a picture when he saw we were 11 rows from the stage!!
The tickets were not cheap but not overly expensive either and all proceeds to the Comedy Gala go to Great Ormond Street Hospital so that makes my tickets even more worthwhile now, especially as very dear friends of ours are waiting on a bed at GOSH for their baby boy as I type this.
I won't spoil it for anyone who will be watching the show on 7th June with regard to the comedians...... but the first act of the night was.... DIVERSITY!!! I love them! I've loved them since Britain's Got Talent - and obviously, the rest of the country love them too otherwise they'd not beaten Susan Boyle. Anyway, they get a few extra members - well worth a giggle in itself.
We also have the big guns such as Lee Evans, Jack Dee, Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. In fact there is a LOT of big names at the comedy gala and too many for me to list so I will just leave you with some cryptic messages: I nearly cried at Kevin Bridges "Ghosties" and I love Josh Widdicombe all because of the "Tea" sketch.
If you ever get the opportunity to go to the Comedy Gala, you won't be disappointed - where else would you see soo many great comedians in one place.
