Keeping Children Active

Activity Toys Direct are running a competition for bloggers to find out what we do to keep our little ones active over the summer holidays.

Well for us, we have weekends to keep Max active as he's too little to be in school (and mummy is soo not ready to be thinking about schools.....) So, what do we do to keep him active at the weekends?  Well we are very lucky to live near the seaside.

Whenever the is a hint of nice weather we are down the beach at some point during the day at some point during the weekend.  We have even been known to go down as late as 5 in the afternoon for an hour.

Armed with a bucket we roam the beach for shells.  We go down to the water's edge and practice our throwing with stones and then chase the waves if we have our shoes on or jump them if we don't.

When we get home we put all our shells in a pot and last weekend we got the craft kit out and made our own beach scene.

This is is one of many ways we keep him active and if I'm honest - it's probably my favourite.

We live about 20 minutes away from the beach. I'm not too fussy on sitting out all day in the heat so in the warmer weather we usually go down later on. On Saturday the oldest four kids were splashing in the sea at 7.30pm! I love the beach picture, the shells really make the piece look lovely. #WeekendBlogHop
