Oh hello, Goodwood!

I have not been to Goodwood FOS for 4 years, and it's not because we now have Max, it's because once a year I have a full stock count at work to facilitate and it takes two days, and it always falls over the Festival of Speed weekend!  BUT, I've managed to get the count down to one day and this year I managed to WIN tickets.

Thank you, Cosmos!

This is Max's first year so I was unsure just how this was going to go, as he may well have got bored after 30 minutes and want to go home!  As it was we took forever to get there this year - and we don't live that far away!  We totally misjudged how much traffic would be on the roads and after 1 and half hours Max announced he wanted to go home!  I ended up sitting in the back with him to entertain him for the last half an hour.

Once we arrived we sat ourselves down and had our lunch - just inside, no looking around, finding a patch near the house or track.  Nope, we were up to the top near the motocross bikes so that was ideal.  Off in the background, we could hear the F1 cars going out and it sent little goosebumps down my arms, oh I do love Goodwood!  I'd forgotten just how much fun it is!

Watching the bikes
There is so so much to see and do, lots of engines smells, noise and overalls.  Cars, bikes and drivers wandering around, driving around the track and at various stools for autographs.

We stayed all day and Max seemed to enjoy himself.  We turned our picnic blanket into a 'cave' when it started raining, sent him flying down a rather fast slide and picked up a few goody bags along the way.

By the afternoon it had all got a bit much for him so we let him have 40 winks under a tree - sleeping soundly whilst the F1 cars went around the track again!

He stayed awake the whole journey home and chatted all the way.  I'm so so pleased he enjoyed himself and wasn't bored or wanting to go home, he never got to see some of the family areas due to being fast asleep so this will be is a perfect excuse to take him back next year.

Thank you, Lord March, Festival of Speed never disappoints.
