My 3 favourite sources for Christmas Decorations

My 3 favourite sources for Christmas Decorations
Adding a few reindeer to our home this year
It is certainly beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, with colder nights and Christmas lights popping up but best of all Christmas decorations in the shops.

I like to buy 1 or 2 new items each year along with a new 'Max' bauble for the tree so listed below are my 3 favourite places to buy decorations.

The shops in town
Now that may sound strange and obvious, but I do try and avoid Christmas shopping in town from, well now onwards really!  It's extremely busy, people pushing and tutting in queues and generally not a great place to have a 4-year-old wanting everything on the shelf, so I do a lot of shopping online or with store pick up.

But the one thing I love is to mooch around looking for decorations.  I was going to go with a gold theme this year but as soon as I saw this beautiful music box I knew my theme just changed - to silver and white... and reindeer.

I am also loving the silver reindeer (and may have to get a second one, you know, to even up the fireplace).  This is quite a large piece for me but so lovely - don't you agree?

Charity shops
I did write about this last year, but my local charity shops have some beautiful pieces on offer and this year as I mentioned above, it's all about the reindeer so I was even more pleased to find a lantern with a reindeer on it.

I purchased a lovely worded sign from Guild Care - for the bargain price of £3.99 and the metal lanterns were £2.99 from Cancer Research - I highly recommend a visit to your local charity shops.

Hobbycraft / Craft shops
That can not come as a surprise?  This year Max and I will be making Turtle baubles and lights and a Marvel fabric wreath - so most of the materials will be sourced from local charity shops, craft shops and Hobbycraft.  Here's a little taster as to what we are making - but a full blog post will follow.

I'm very pleased with this year's haul - do you have a favourite?  I may have to keep the reindeer snow globe out all year round.
