The Instagram Bag from Paper Bag Co

Food and photography pretty much go hand in hand in the Instagram world and the lovely Paper Bag Co has created the most amazing bag containing a few vital accessories to help your photos of food pop!

I am in love with the bag, not only can you use it as a backdrop for photos, but it is the perfect size for festivals, overnight stays and a shopping spree.

What to do with the kids : Bored Box Review

At the Top Drawer exhibition in January, I came across a lovely up-and-coming company called Pikkii.

Their stand was one of the best and filled with quirky, innovative products, a brand I am sure will go far.

Bright and Bold Naylor Activity Tunnels

I must admit, activity tunnels had not really been on my radar when purchasing toy equipment.  What a wasted opportunity that was!

Blaze Giga Bot Energy Core Toy Review

Blaze!  Malicious, unstable and the "Leader of the Scourage" was no match for my 10-year-old son this week when he pulled the energy core apart and used that and the components inside to build this baddie!

Review of the Hoover H-Power 300

#Gifted

Over the past three weeks, I have been testing out Hoover's H-Power 300 pets and allergy vacuum cleaner.

About the Hoover H-Power 300

The Hoover H-POWER 300 was released in 2022 and is the successor to their previous cylinder model, the "Optimum Power" and now has a new efficient 850W motor (150W more than the previous), a 2-litre easy-to-empty bin, a pet brush included with the pet models and an improved nozzle for carpets and all floors.

The pets model also uses silver ion technology which stops the growth of bacteria on the inside.

We have been kindly gifted this model by HooverDirect.co.uk

Beautiful 'Just to Say' Gifts from Cotton & Grey

Cotton and Grey have come up with a really beautiful gift package, one for yourself or a loved one to help with relaxation and mindfulness.

Their twenty-minute candles were born after a friend of theirs was struggling in lockdown.  Thanks to these beautiful Beeswax Candles and affirmation cards, this helped her to relax and restore her wellbeing.  I think this is wonderful and the best kind of why a business is born.

Can you escape from the new downloadable escape room kits?

Last year I wrote about Epic Escapes Games and their great triple themed escape package.  Now, there is a new set of games by the makes to challenge, confuse and test your observation knowledge, with a difference.

It's Printable.

It turns out I'm not that good at these puzzles, and always need help. Thankfully, Epic Escapes offers this help, which can be viewed or downloaded along with the game.

As with all games, we had to work out the 4 digit code to open the safe and workout the location.  To find out if you've got the code correct you have to enter this on the Epic Escapes website, and only the correct combination will let you open the next screen.

Sky Original - The Rising

The Rising is a new supernatural Sky Original, which is being released on the 22nd April.

The Rising Synopsys

Neve Kelly (Clara Rugaard) is dead. Understandably, she’s scared and confused by this new (non) existence, but moreover, when she realises she has been murdered, she’s furious.

Turn your children in to Spy Ninjas this Easter

We love the new Cats vs Pickles Reversible Plushies

The new reversible Cats vs Pickles plushies means you can change your mind as to what team you are on with a spin of a kitty, and what's more, you don't need to feel bad for the Cat or Pickle you didn't choose, as they are just hiding away, waiting to be to chosen again.

Landscapers a Sky Original

I caught a trailer for Landscapers, a Sky original, on Atlantic and thought it looked like a good watch.  A dark comedy and something to get into.  With David Thewlis and Olivia Colman staring it in, it must be good, and the comical policing investigation finally convinced me.

Well, I was wrong!

Luxury handmade gifts to stand the test of time

A bold statement, I know, to say these gifts will stand the test of time, but I believe given the quality of the wood, these games will!

The only downside to my statement would be the loss of pieces, which happens with so many games over the years, but hopefully thanks to the beautiful bag to keep the pieces safe in, this will not be the case with Jaques games purchased.

Trade to Aid - Reusable Sanitary Pads

#Gifted

Over the last year or so I have noticed a surge in reusable period pads and pants, and is something I've been very keen to get a handle on.    We can not continue to use single-use sanitary products, especially when figures from the Marine Conservation Society reveal an average of 4.8 pieces of menstrual waste is found per 100 metres of beach cleaned!  That is just the products flushed, so can you imagine the volume of products incinerated or ending up in landfills.

Over the past few months, I have been trialling Trade to Aid Reusable pads.

Book Review: Am I Loved

About the Book: Am I Loved

How can we function as sophisticated emotional beings when we can neither understand nor control our emotions? That is the question.

#Gifted

This book is about nothing if not about being human. It is about love and human needs, about misunderstandings, tragedy, faith and despair, but mostly about love. It is not another novel or self-help book on relationships, just a book that is truly stranger than fiction.

My Top 5 programmes axed after just one season

While flicking through Amazon Prime for something new to watch, I came across Truth Seekers.  A TV Programme that had Nick Frost and Simon Pegg on board as writers, I thought this must be good.

I wasn't wrong!

Epic Escape Games that can be played at home

#Gifted

Lockdown introduced us to escape rooms via Zoom, which I have to admit, worked pretty well! We had tried both self-hosted, where, as a group, you have to try to figure out the combination to get off a train before it crashes, and hosted, which after a few rum and cokes was highly entertaining even though it was a wee bit scary!

When Epic Escapes asked if I'd like to review their home version of escape rooms, I was keen to see how this would work after playing them on zoom and my son's youth versions.
