The toothbrush dentists recommend - Oral-B Pro 2500

I recently received the new Oral-B Pro 2500 toothbrush.  Oral-B toothbrushes are often recommended via dentists, as we hear all the time on TV, and this is true in the case of the Fulham Based Dentist Pure Smiles.

As I mentioned above, this brand of the toothbrush has been recommended to me by Pure Smiles dentist.  The product comes in either black or pink and includes a handy travel case.

There is a visible pressure sensor around the back of the handle, which lights up if you are pressing too hard on your teeth.  A waterproof handle, a 2-minute timer and a charge level display.

The head is small and round with the pressure sensor in the middle and is compatible with Oral-B brush heads for every Oral care need.

My thoughts on the new Oral-B Pro 2500

I have to admit I do prefer the smaller heads than my current toothbrush, which is more rectangular.  I can get around each tooth far better with this head and feel that my teeth have had a better brush up.

The sensor light never came on for me, but this may be from years of using an electric toothbrush.  I would never now go back to a manual brush, my dentist knows straight away that I have an electric brush and has often commented on how well my cleaning is going (yes, I may feel a bit proud when she tells me this, I had awful teeth care as a child!)

I found it slightly more noisy than my current brush, but it's nothing too loud and you soon get used to it.  It does a little splutter after 30 seconds and I believe this is to remind you to move on to the next section.  I've never really been a fan of timing my teeth, I suddenly feel under pressure if I've taken longer in one section then I should, so I just ignore all times and slowly work around every tooth.  It feels like an hour or so but in reality, it's only ever been 2 - 2 and half minutes!

It's very much a toothbrush that does what it says, but for me, I love the travel case!  I've never had one for an electric toothbrush before and always wrapped them in their own bag, then in my toiletry bag.  This is a hard case which can hold two heads and is the perfect travel case!  This alone would sell it to me.

Not the fact that it's pink, (although an advantage in a male-dominated house), or the fact that it is the number 1 recommended a brand from dentists, but because I can pack my toothbrush neatly away when we go on holiday!

Oh, and my teeth feel very clean - but I'd expect nothing less from a dentist recommended toothbrush.
