Ejected - New Wondrous "Fictional" Book on the Environment for Young Adults

If you want your teen to understand the current environmental problems, or maybe more so, if you want to understand precisely what is going wrong with the world then this new book Ejected by Dawn Pape will blow you out of this world.

For a book that is a story, it is filled with fact and such an amazing read!

The climate crisis is everyone’s crisis and we need to work together to solve it. Ejected is a novel for teenagers and young adults that shows how, with the will and wisdom to do it, we can. We are all accountable for the damage being done, but we can also all help to fix it.

What is Ejected about?

Ejected is not only a novel but also a guidebook designed to inspire discussion and action to end climate change.

Average people responsible for excessive greenhouse gas emissions are ejected from the planet. In order to return to Earth, the “Ejected” need to unite to decrease emission levels so the world can support them once again. Will they manage to implement the solutions in time to return to their loved ones?

This book is designed to start conversations that can change our environmental trajectory. Without immediate action, the world is headed toward a climate unfit for humans within our children’s lifetimes. Why is there any hesitation in getting started?

Why everyone should read Ejected

Climate change is the most important issue today for parents and grandparents (as well as for children who will have to live in the world that we are destroying). Today’s parents will do almost anything to help their children progress, physically, intellectually and emotionally, and yet they often turn a blind eye to the issue that will affect their children the most.

This entertaining book is also a manual on how to end the climate crisis—perfect for individuals and classroom teachers. Although a work of fiction, Ejected offers real climate solutions while also exploring other critical societal problems such as environmental racism.

Why I would recommend this read

I learnt so much in the first couple of chapters that I kind of knew about but not to the depth the book goes into.  Don't be mistaken in thinking you'll be presented with facts and figures and charts and percentages, you won't.  You will be presented with what is wrong with our would in story form.

That is the idea of the Ejected.  They have in some way damaged the environment, and similar to Scrooge and the ghost of Christmas present, they are whipped around the world to be shown how the world is bleeding with events such as forest fires and starving Polar Bears, and not only are the Ejected shown these scenes, they are made to feel them too.

It's a powerful book, it's emotional and it's heartbreaking because it's fact!  But there is light, there is work to be done to stop the damage and to take more care of our planet, after all there is no planet B.

We learn via the story how passive buildings are the way forward with solar-powered rooftops to eliminate the need for heating and cooling systems, which I find the most important to help promote.

An absolutely fascinating read that will get you thinking about your lifestyle, what you can do to help the planet and more importantly will raise questions and discussions.

What's not to love about that!
