BackSeat Playground Competition
Car Loan 4U are running the BackSeat Playground Competition. The idea is to write a blog post on how you entertain your little ones and what fun activities you do in your car.
So here's my entry - Max giving us the big cheeeeese pose. Love him.
We give Max his / mine / daddy's sunglasses this keeps him amused for a good 5 minutes

We have a box next to his car seat filled with toys and books which Max can reach across and rummage through - this is rather new, before that the toys were all over the back seat.
There is usually a balloon in the car. This keeps him amused for a good 10 - 15 minutes. It is best to keep the balloon tied to something so it doesn't wonder into the front or out the window.
Singing - and most popular and what usually lasts at least 10 minutes is Old MacDonald! I sing my own version (basically a shorter version) and I pause to ask Max what animal was on the farm and he will make the animal noise - I get a clap when I get it right!!
Anything longer than 30 - 40 minutes in the car and the boy nods off

Wildlife Jack & his animal adventures DVD for kids
Supporting local businesses.
A local business couple has created lovely DVDs for children. The stories are of Jack, who is an animated character, exploring the wildlife.
Below used to show a five-minute teaser, but 2 years on and it now shows a clip from Disney Junior!!
If, like my son, your little ones enjoy movies with animals in you can help our local film directors by purchasing the DVD in advance and other gift packages KickStarter.com. Down the right-hand side are the options you can purchase to help Ed & Abi raise the £15,000 by Saturday 27th.
I have not received anything for this post and apart from the fact Max enjoyed the taster, I strongly believe in supporting local business.
If you are in Sussex please repost and spread the word to help Abi & Ed to make British films to encourage children in learning about British Wildlife.

The advantage of living a pebble's throw away from the beach is that we can go anytime we like.... so obviously we don't!
The weekend just gone and it was a scorcher was it not? We didn't have any plans for Sunday afternoon so we went into town to check out the sand pit play area which is located on the seafront. After a good hour's play, we went in search of ice cream and ended up having an impromptu paddle in the sea.
Sometimes we forget what's right in front of us :)

A couple of weeks ago Max went on his first bouncy castle slide. It was way-way too big for him and took him a good 15 minutes to master the steps! Once Max got to the top he just sat there waiting for someone to give him a little push! Bless him! He sat there for quite some time before finally shuffling his bottom enough to come down the slide and this was the effect:
Today, we've been to the local fun day and I swear I've aged 60 years - 10 years for every time this little boy who is 20 months old going on 20 - went up and down the slide.
Can you see him? He's the tiny spec in the pictures!!
